Installation Guidelines

When planning the placement of your sauna, please take the following clearance recommendations into account. They will make a noticeable difference when it comes to installation, care & maintenance.

  • Choose a location with a flat, level surface
  • Allow 5 cm clearance on the sides and at the rear of your sauna
  • Allow 30 cm of space above your sauna's roof
  • Ensure access to the powerpoint at all times, to allow for hard reset
  • Check your sauna specs for required power amperage

Since every location is different, it's a great idea to connect with your sales consultant. They can provide valuable guidance in choosing the perfect sauna model for your specific space. A pre-install site inspection may also be possible, depending on your location.

Clearlight Saunas are built to our patented design in our own factory.

Uncompromising quality of materials and technology inclusions.

Advanced EMF & ELF shielding that is rigorously third-party tested

Each Clearlight Sauna passes a quality control inspection before being sold.

Can I put an Indoor Clearlight® Sauna outside?

Our indoor sauna range cannot be placed outside for 2 reasons.1. The heaters will not be able to reach the desired temperatures due to colder outside environments.‍2. The indoor saunas are not designed to withstand exterior weather conditions, so any damage to the structure caused by weather factors will not be covered by our Limited Lifetime Warranty.

How are Clearlight® Saunas better than other infrared saunas?

Clearlight® Saunas are the only infrared saunas designed by Dr. Raleigh Duncan, who has spent over 20 years developing technology to heal the human body. Our saunas combine exceptional craftsmanship with a focus on therapeutic benefits.

Our patented True Wave® Carbon & Ceramic heaters are the best in the market for safety and efficacy.

With hand-sanded panels, high-quality wood, and constant R&D, you’re getting the best in infrared therapy. Plus, our limited lifetime warranty covers the entire sauna; the wood cabin, heaters, controls and even the audio system — ensuring long-term support. We're committed to quality, knowing we’ll stand behind your sauna for years to come.

What’s the EMF in a Clearlight® Sauna?

EMF and ELF are important to us. 10 years ago we started producing heaters with the lowest possible EMF levels. Over time we’ve pioneered other technologies in this field and we’re proud to say that the EMF (and ELF levels) are perhaps the lowest on the market. When measuring directly on the far infrared heater the highest EMF level we could measure was 1.5 mG, which is by far below the WHO threshold of concern (3 mG). When only moving a few cm away this level literally drops to 0.

Besides the invention of our True Wave® heater technology, we also use metal conduit wiring, run several grounding wires, and have designed the sauna in a way that the exposure to both EMF and ELF is the absolute minimum possible. When measuring on the two powerful Full Spectrum Infrared Heaters in the front, you will measure a maximum of up to 7-8mG. When moving away only 10cm the levels drop to 0. As EMF reduces with distance, where you are sitting there is no EMF measurable.

What does the warranty cover and how long is the warranty?

When buying an infrared sauna it is important to understand why a Limited Lifetime Warranty on the entire sauna is important. Our Limited Lifetime Warranty covers all of the parts and components of your sauna for manufacture defects for as long as you own it.‍

Almost every other infrared sauna is only covered under a 7-year warranty or less. If something goes wrong with your sauna in year 8 the manufacturer is not obligated to provide parts for saunas older than 7 years.‍

All Clearlight® Infrared Sauna® models installed for home use are covered by our Limited Lifetime Warranty. Your sauna is warranted to be free from manufacturer defects for as long as you own it.‍

Be sure to ask when researching infrared saunas if the company offers a True Limited Lifetime Warranty.‍

If you are using your sauna in a commercial environment, we offer a complete 5 year warranty.

How does an infrared sauna work?

Infrared therapy heats your body directly using far infrared heat, unlike traditional saunas where you sit in a hot room (80°C-105°C). In an infrared sauna, the temperature only needs to get to around 60ºC, and 80% of the heat targets your body, and only 20% heats the air.

To effectively raise your core temperature—front and back—your body absorbs the heat, which stimulates your metabolism, lymphatic, immune, and cardiovascular systems, triggering a deep, detoxifying sweat. The water in your body also resonates with the heat, enhancing detoxification.

Our Clearlight® Infrared Saunas provide 360° heat with heaters at the front, on your front, back, sides, calves, and legs for maximum effect.

Is infrared heat safe?

Infrared heat is completely safe—it's a natural part of life, emitted and received by all objects, including the human body. Hospitals even use similar heaters to warm newborns. We've designed our patented carbon/ceramic True Wave® heaters to emit far infrared in the same range as your body for maximum absorption and therapeutic benefits.

What types of heaters are used in Clearlight Saunas?

Far Infrared Heaters

When comparing far infrared sauna heaters, consider the heater size, material, heat quality, and surface temperature. The most common materials are ceramic and carbon.

Ceramic heaters are efficient and have a high emissivity rating, meaning they produce a lot of infrared heat. However, they emit shorter wavelengths, which are less easily absorbed by the body, making them less therapeutic.

Carbon heaters, on the other hand, produce longer infrared wavelengths that are better absorbed by the body, offering more therapeutic benefits. They run at lower surface temperatures, but their drawback is a lower emissivity, meaning they produce less infrared heat.

Many companies use carbon heaters that extend into the head region to compensate for low heat output, which wastes energy by heating the air instead of your body.

Clearlight’s True Wave® heaters combine carbon and ceramic for the best of both worlds. They deliver the long-wave infrared of carbon with the high output of ceramic, providing an unparalleled infrared sauna experience exclusive to Clearlight®. You'll feel the difference immediately.

Full Spectrum Infrared Heaters

Full spectrum heaters emit near (IR-A), mid (IR-B), and far infrared (IR-C) wavelengths. Some saunas combine heaters to achieve this full spectrum, while others use low-wattage LED lights for near-infrared, which is effective for topical treatments but not ideal for sauna use. LED near-infrared therapy requires direct skin contact, making it unsuitable for sauna environments.

Clearlight® Sanctuary Saunas use halogen full spectrum heaters built to our exact standards. Each heater emits near, mid, and far infrared, penetrating deep into the skin layers for maximum therapeutic benefit.

Is the assembly and disassembly easy?

If your sauna is being delivered within our serviced metro areas, installation is provided.

Self-assembly, or disassembly (if you're moving house, etc) is quick and easy. You will receive a detailed printed manual with step-by-step instructions. It usually takes two people about one to three hours to assemble the sauna, depending on the size and location. No tools are required for the overall assembly except for standard screw driver for the door handle. An allen key is provided to fit the glass parts for the Sanctuary Saunas.

We have some videos on our Youtube channel that provide practical tips and guidance.

Your Clearlight® Infrared Sauna is pre-wired and made with precision craftsmanship so it connects together with ease. We build your Clearlight® Infrared Sauna in our factory and every sauna is built and tested to ensure it meets our strict quality control standards. We then disassemble it, box it up and ship it to you. This way we ensure you will receive your sauna in perfect condition.
